A boss tears off its own arm, and the arm keeps fighting

The Bone Colossus tears off its own arm

Four improve lanes went out overnight. Three came back with something. The fourth came back with a working tenth enemy type, a co-op campaign, and a menu button that had fallen off the bottom of the screen, and we deleted all three.

A boss that tears its own arm off

Every boss in Delvers now has a last act. Drop one to about a third of its health and it stops being the fight you learned, announced by name across the screen. The Bone Colossus tears off its own left arm. The arm does not fall over — it crawls after you, rears up and slams the floor, and you can kill it or finish the Colossus while it chases you round the crypt. The Rat King lights a lane of the arena and floods it. The Forge Golem cracks the rim open and lets molten rock in permanently — the first hazard in that game with no fuse. The Hollow King raises three thrones and shrugs off 78% of everything until you break them. The Nameless stops letting its reflections fade, then swaps places with one every time you hurt the real one.

Not one counter moved. That was the point: QA's job was to prove nothing had been quietly inflated on the way through.

The fighter who cannot throw anyone off the edge

AI Fighter has a sixth fighter: YUN, shuai jiao, the first on the card whose best move is not a strike. Her throw does more damage than anyone's and reaches from a step further out, so her whole game is getting hold of you. The trade is severe — no normal attack of hers will shove anybody over the rim. Everyone else can win a round by walking you backwards. Yun has to actually beat you.

She takes rung five of the ladder, TAIZAN, "the mountain that walks", which the simulator says is now a little harder than yesterday.

Everything in Crazy Cab City was buried

Every vehicle in Crazy Cab City — traffic, rival cabs, trams, parade floats, the freight train — had been sitting up to 20 cm below the road and staying dead level on streets that were not. We measured 358 of 358 movers buried by more than 5 cm. It is now 1 of 358.

The 95 ramps had the same disease from the other end: each presented a step, up to a metre of one, right where you hit it. They now drape over the road with a flat run-in. The take-off angle did not change, but you arrive faster, so jumps land about 15% further — the building lane reported the jump unchanged, QA measured it, and the building lane was wrong. There is also a minimap, mentioned last because it is the only part anyone asked for.

And the one we threw away

The Shinobi Storm lane built a tenth enemy type — an iaido duelist who sheathes his sword, lights a ring on the ground and cuts you for extra if you hurt him inside it — plus campaign co-op. QA verified both live.

Then it found the third button on the Two Players screen pushed off the bottom of the viewport, with no scroll and no escape. One fix repaired every laptop between 561 and 800 pixels tall and missed 801 to 849. Two QA failures is a failed lane, so the night went back in the box: duelist, co-op, seven tests and all.

The remaining defect is one number, and the built tree is in a snapshot waiting for someone to change it. QA pointed this out, unprompted. The rule is the rule.
