King Mole and General Gnaw are no longer just big moles with more health — each now has a real second phase you have to fight your way through.
- Wound King Mole past half health and he digs in: he roars, vanishes underground, comes up somewhere new, and leaves buried royal mines behind him. From then on he keeps tunnelling — watch for the churning ground under him and the marker showing exactly where he is about to burst out.
- His royal mines are marked with a glowing ring so you can walk around them, and a well-placed shot will set one off from a safe distance. Land one near the King himself and he wears it.
- Wound General Gnaw past half health and he calls in the barrage. Three patches of ground get a red crosshair, and on his next turn they are flattened by falling bombs.
- The barrage marks are re-drawn at the start of every one of your turns, so they always show the ground you are standing on right now. Move, and you live. Stand still, and you very much do not.
- Both bosses now look the part — King Mole in his crown and royal collar, General Gnaw in his officer's cap and sash — and each glows in his own colour once his second phase begins.
- New sounds for both fights: the earth bursting open as the King surfaces, his mines being armed, Gnaw's bugle call, the targeting lock, and the whistle of bombs on the way down.

Act II — The Deep: five new battles, medics and bombardiers, two new arenas, the Burrow Queen boss, and a narrated intro cinematic.
- The campaign continues past General Gnaw into five underground battles, ending against the Burrow Queen — a real boss who summons her brood and stomps the ground once you wound her.
- Two new enemy ranks: medics patch up wounded moles, bombardiers seize the high ground and rain airstrikes.
- Two new battlefields: a dripping cavern with its own echoing atmosphere, and a volcano where falling in means lava.
- The game now opens with a short narrated cinematic showing how diplomacy went (badly). Skip it any time.
- Saved campaigns carry straight on into the new battles.

Explosions rebuilt from scratch — a lobed fireball, spinning dirt clods that bounce off the terrain, a ground-hugging dust ring and a column of smoke.
- Every blast now opens with a flash disc and a proper fireball, throws 15-25 spinning clods of themed dirt that bounce off solid ground, pushes a dust ring outward and lifts a column of smoke.
- Craters are scorched and show a band of pale subsoil under the burn — the hole itself is exactly the same size it always was.
- Blasts light the moles around them for the frames they are burning.
- Every projectile trails: hot cores on rockets, violet on seekers, a faint arc on thrown weapons, draining away when one sticks.
- Screen shake now leans in the direction of the blast and the view kicks in slightly, with a one-frame flash and a desaturated slow-motion look.
- Terrain destruction, hitboxes and team colours are unchanged — the blast radius is exactly what it was.

Mole Mayhem's campaign doubled to 10 battles, with three new enemy types, two new arenas, and a new trap weapon.
- The campaign now runs 10 battles instead of 5, ending in a new final boss: General Gnaw, King Mole's ruthless second-in-command.
- Three new enemy types join the fight: snipers who keep their distance and pick you off from range, brutes who charge straight at you with fists and dynamite, and tricksters who dig and teleport constantly to keep you guessing.
- Two new battlegrounds: a frostbitten arena with falling snow, and a toxic swamp with rising bubbles.
- A new weapon, the Land Mine — bury it and wait for an enemy to wander too close.
- Fixed an off-screen text bug on the new final battle's intro screen.

Mole Mayhem is now playable on a phone — pull back from your mole and let go to fire.
- Touch controls: drag anywhere to pull back from your mole and release to launch. The shot flies the opposite way, and the further you pull the harder it hits.
- On-screen buttons for everything else: walk left/right, jump, cycle the arsenal, use dynamite/drill/bat/warp/airstrike, and pause.
- Menus, the options screen and the airstrike marker all get their own touch buttons, so you can play from the title screen to the end of the campaign without a keyboard.
- Hold the phone sideways and the game says so if you don't; all on-screen hints now switch between keyboard, controller and touch as you swap.

Every explosion is 50% bigger, napalm now burns anyone standing in it, and missiles detonate on contact instead of flying through enemies.
- Every explosion in the game is 50% bigger — bigger craters, bigger fireballs, and a shockwave ring. The blast reaches further too, so near misses finally hurt; a direct hit does the same damage it always did.
- Missiles no longer pass through enemies. A rocket or seeker now detonates the instant it touches a mole, however fast it is travelling.
- Seeker missiles no longer accelerate without limit over a long chase, so they stay something you can see coming and dodge.
- Napalm pools now settle onto the ground, keep burning for a turn or two, and cook any mole standing in the flames — yours included. Burning moles glow, and the damage is capped each turn so you always get a chance to walk out.
- Firebombs that burst in mid-air now drop their burning pool onto the ground below instead of leaving flames hanging in the sky.
- The How to Play screen no longer draws its heading twice over the controls.

Added quiet, privacy-safe gameplay analytics (run starts, progress milestones, deaths, and wins) so the studio can see how players actually experience the game.
- The studio now sees how each garden war actually unfolds — battles started, levels cleared, clans wiped out, and campaigns won — so future updates can target where players really struggle.

The drill got a steering wheel and the jump got real air control — no more digging yourself into the pond.
- The Drill is now aimed like a weapon: point it up, down or sideways and tunnel exactly where you aim, instead of always boring straight down.
- The Drill stops at the water's edge — it will never carry you into the pond and drown you again.
- Jumps now go where you tell them: hold a direction to leap that way, hold nothing for a clean straight-up hop.
- You can steer while airborne, and jumps no longer get eaten by the walls of explosion craters — you can finally hop out of blast holes.
- Enemy moles learned to aim their drills too, tunnelling smartly toward you instead of digging blindly downward.

Five brand-new weapons and a proper kill-cam that lets the carnage land before your turn ends.
- Five new weapons join the arsenal: a Seeker Missile that curves in the air to chase a foe, a Sticky Bomb that latches onto any surface, a Firebomb that leaves a spreading pool of burning napalm, a Mole Bat that shoves enemies (ideally into the pond), and a Burrow Warp that teleports you out of trouble.
- The camera now holds on the impact after a shot, with a beat of slow-motion on kills, so you actually get to watch a cluster bomb or airstrike finish its damage before the next player goes.
- Multi-hit weapons hold the view until the very last explosion or flame settles - no more cutting away mid-blast.
- A new on-screen arsenal strip shows every weapon and its remaining ammo at a glance.
- Enemy moles use all the new weapons too, and will warp to safety when the flood rises.

Mole Mayhem gets Worms-sized battlefields with a scrolling, zooming camera, floating islands, and a big art-and-UI polish pass.
- Maps are now much larger — the camera scrolls and follows the action, and you can zoom in and out to survey the whole battlefield.
- Zoom with the mouse wheel or +/− keys, pan by right-dragging or with the gamepad right stick; the camera even sweeps over to show your airstrikes landing.
- New floating islands hang in the sky as extra ground to fight across, so battles aren't just one flat hill anymore.
- Brand-new bomber airplane for airstrikes (properly pointed the right way and bigger), plus flashier rockets, grenades and bombs with smoke trails.
- Moles now bob and cast shadows as they scurry, and the water has real waves, foam and depth.
- Softer rounded panels everywhere, name and health tags lifted off the moles, and the "sudden death" warning no longer spills out of its box.
10 July 2026ImprovementClaude Opus 4.8
Smarter enemy moles that actually maneuver and use every weapon, plus supply crates, four battlefield looks, and a flood siren before the water rises.
- Enemy moles now move into position and use the whole arsenal — including dynamite (then running for cover) and the drill — across every campaign battle and the King Mole showdown.
- Supply crates now parachute onto the field: grab them for a health boost or extra ammo.
- Battles come in four looks now — sunny garden, dusk, moonlit night, and beach — with campaign levels themed and Versus randomized.
- A blaring siren and flashing warning now fire a full round before the sudden-death water starts rising, so the flood no longer catches you off guard.
- Added two new sound effects for the flood siren and crate pickups.
