Four real floodlights over the pitch, a stadium that shakes when the ball hits the woodwork, and a net that rings when you score.
- Four proper floodlights on the tower heads, the near pair casting soft shadows across the pitch, with glowing halos and haze cones in the air above them.
- The stadium shakes on a strike, a save, a hit off the post and a goal — the camera itself is never actually moved, so nothing about your view drifts.
- The back net is finely divided and ripples outward from exactly where the ball hits it.
- A save now freezes for 80 milliseconds so it registers as a save.
- The crowd flashes with cameras — a trickle normally, a spike on a strike, a wall of them on a goal — and the hoardings scroll.
- The goal frame casts, the terraces receive, and the whole picture glows a little in the floodlit dark.
- Keeper reach and goal dimensions are untouched.

Viva La Soccer is now fully playable on a phone — take penalties with a thumb stick, stop the power meter with a tap, and dive by tapping the side of the screen you want to throw yourself at.
- The whole shootout can now be played on a phone. Turn it sideways and a prompt shows you the way; a thumb stick anywhere on the left steers your aim while a STRIKE button on the right locks it and then stops the power meter.
- When you go in goal, the screen splits into three big dive zones. Tap the left, middle or right of the screen to throw yourself that way — no tiny buttons to hunt for in the split second you have to read the tell.
- A pause button sits next to your aiming thumb, so you can reach options and mute the sound mid-tie without a keyboard, and a SKIP button lets you get past a cinematic on a phone the way Escape does on a desktop.
- The scoreboard no longer breaks onto two lines and covers the round title on smaller screens — the score, the five kick markers and both flags now stay on one tidy line right down to a small phone held sideways.
- On-screen help now names what your hands are actually holding: keyboard keys, controller buttons, or the touch controls, switching live as you change device.
- Nothing changed for keyboard or controller players — same controls, same feel, same everything.

The shot tell is fixed — kickers now lean with their whole body — and the Knockout Cup is finally a real trophy you lift.
- Fixed the shot tell: when a kicker telegraphs a side, his head and arms now move with his body instead of staying behind. The read is clearer and works at full pitch distance.
- The same fault affected every animation in the game, so keepers, run-ups, celebrations and the concede slump all move correctly now too.
- The Knockout Cup exists. It waits on a plinth in the champion’s colours, and when the announcer says lift it to the lights, your player actually lifts it overhead in a shower of gold sparks.
- Skipping the winner’s cinematic no longer leaves confetti falling over the main menu.
- Every one of the six signature moves was re-checked in both directions to make sure you can still tell which corner a kicker is going for.

Added quiet, privacy-safe gameplay analytics (run starts, progress milestones, deaths, and wins) so the studio can see how players actually experience the game.
- The game now quietly reports its own match flow to the studio, so we can see how far players get through the cup — no change to how it plays.

Fixed a browser console error that fired on every page load — no gameplay change.
- Added a proper site icon so the game no longer throws a missing-favicon error in the browser on load.
- Housekeeping only: menus, controls, and gameplay are unchanged.

Goals now erupt into a rotating set of short cinematic stadium celebrations — close-up crowds, a rolling wave, fireworks, a scorer camera and a scoreboard flash.
- Score a penalty and the camera cuts to a celebration: a close-up of jumping fans and flags, a wave rippling around the stand, fireworks over the bowl, a swoop around the scorer, or a scoreboard-flash replay — picked so repeat goals stay fresh.
- Pull off a save as keeper and the crowd erupts for you too; concede and you get a quieter, dejected keeper beat instead.
- Added a proper 3D supporters' stand of colourful fans and waving flags behind the goal, alive in the background even at the menu.
- A stadium announcer now calls your goals and big saves.
- Every celebration is short and fully skippable, and the decisive cup-winning kick rolls straight into the trophy cinematic so the shootout never drags.

The players got real bodies and the ball finally looks like a football — a full visual overhaul of players, ball, pitch, crowd and stadium.
- Players rebuilt from blocky figures into rounded athletes with faces, hair, elbows and knees — keepers even wear big goalkeeper gloves
- The ball now has the classic black-pentagon panel pattern and a subtle shine, so you can see it spin in flight
- Run-ups, kicks and keeper dives look far more human: bending knees, pumping arms, full-stretch saves and a keeper who bounces on his line waiting for you
- Real grass covers the pitch and thousands of painted fans fill the stands at night
- New glowing pitch-side ad boards dress the stadium for the big occasion

Fixed a bug in the shared cutscene system where holding a button as a cinematic began could skip it instantly — cutscenes now play as intended.
- Fixed a bug where a button still held down from the previous screen — the one you just pressed to confirm a menu — was mistaken for a fresh press the instant a cinematic opened, skipping the whole scene before a single frame played. Intros and endings now start properly.
- The problem depended on how long you held the button: a quick tap hid it, while a normal press destroyed the scene, which is why it went unnoticed for so long. Controller players were affected most.
- Skipping and fast-forwarding still work exactly as they always did — press to advance a line, or skip the scene entirely, once the button is released and pressed again.
- Added an automated test suite around the cutscene controls so this class of bug is caught before it ever reaches a player again.
- Gameplay, visuals, audio and balance are completely untouched — this is a repair to a shared piece of the studio cinematic system, applied to every game that uses it.

The keeper phase got its bullet-time moment: named kickers with signature tells, slow-motion reads, and two long-standing bugs fixed.
- Every opponent penalty is now taken by a named kicker with his own signature move - a glance, a hop, a shoulder dip - that telegraphs where he will shoot. Same kicker, same move, every cup: learn the men, win the reads.
- Just before the strike, time dilates into a dramatic slow-motion close-up with heartbeat and crowd hush; pick your corner while time is slow, then it snaps back at contact. Early rounds are honest; by the Final, stars will sell you a fake.
- Fixed: diving left now actually dives left - keeper controls were mirrored on screen.
- Fixed: Continue on the main menu now works, so a cup run in progress really can be resumed.

The players finally look like footballers, and every penalty now flies with a golden swoosh.
- Striker and keeper are now proper soccer players with full kits — shirts, shorts, socks and real boots in your nation's colours, plus shirt numbers and faces
- The keeper wears a dark kit with bright gloves and trim in the defending nation's colour
- Every shot now streaks a glowing swoosh trail through the air, with a flash off the boot and a burst of sparks on goals and saves
- Goals and big saves now punch the screen with a quick shake, and the ball whips through the air with a new whoosh sound
